General Motors has won dismissal of a shareholder lawsuit accusing it of padding sales around the time of its November 2010 initial public offering by quietly unloading vehicle inventory on its dealers.

Sales of Mercedes-Benz brand cars rose 10 percent to 118,887 in August thanks to strong demand for its compact models and robust deliveries in China and the United States.

Mercedes-Benz expects a new name, fresh design and innovative technology will double sales of the S-class coupe compared with the model it replaces, the CL.

It might be more of a refresh than a revolution but the updates, which include a new, more striking grille, cabin enhancements, improved engines and infotainment upgrades should be enough for the A6 and Avant Estate to keep up with its closest rivals — the BMW 5-Series and Mercedes E Class.
