Renault will rely heavily on its alliance partner Nissan for manufacturing staff in China, where it will start producing locally built crossovers with Dongfeng Motor Group in 2016, said Jacques Daniel, CEO of Dongfeng Renault Automobiles.
“We will use a lot of people from Nissan’s manufacturing staff in China,” he said at the auto show here. “We will get the design and r&d staff from Europe.”
Toyota’s i-Road 3-wheeled electronic personal mobility vehicle (PMV) has begun public road trials in Toyota City, Japan as part of “Ha:mo”, Toyota’s optimized urban transport system.
The latest figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders show that new car registrations increased by 3.0% in February 2014. Mercedes-Benz’ new 9-speed 9G-TRONIC, the first rear-wheel drive nine-speed automatic transmission with torque converter, is making its debut in the E 350 BlueTEC as the standard transmission paired with the 185 kW (252 hp) V6 diesel. Announced in 2013, the 9G-TRONIC represents the seventh automatic transmission generation from Mercedes-Benz.
