The California Air Resources Board has fined 12 shipping companies a combined $476,750 for failure to switch from high-sulfur diesel “bunker” fuel to cleaner, low-sulfur marine distillate fuel upon entering Regulated California Waters, as required by state law.
The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has agreed with Government Ministers to make the information publically available as part of an ongoing process of improving the regulations that surround the garage sector.
Sooner or later, consumers will be able to buy cars that rely on computers — not the owner — to do the driving. Though the technology is still being tested, the day it rolls out into broad public use can now be measured in years, not decades.
Turkish auto output down 11% in February
Turkey’s vehicle production fell 11 percent year-on-year in February to 83,140 vehicles, the Automotive Manufacturers’ Association (OSD) said today.
In the first two months of the year, output was also down 11 percent to 158,182 vehicles, the association said.
The French government is to reduce its stake in supplier Valeo, reversing a move it made five years ago as part of its attempts to shore up the crisis-hit car industry.
