Nissan LEAF is best-selling EV in Europe for fourth year in a row

The battery-electric Nissan LEAF has topped its own European sales record with a 33% increase in European sales in 2014 over the previous year, taking 26% of the burgeoning electric car market with 14,658 sales out of a total 56,393, according to figures from Nissan. Nissan and its partner Renault together accounted for a full 46% of the EV market in Europe in 2014.

Nissan is recalling certain model year 2014 LEAF vehicles manufactured 28 February 2014, through 12 March 2014. The front structural member assembly may be missing welds, which could reduce the structural integrity of the vehicle if the vehicle is involved in a crash. Up to 211 vehicles may be affected.

Portuguese police get Nissan Leafs


Urban police are to take delivery of the first eight Nissan Leafs, complete with sirens and blue lights. The electric Nissans will be used mainly as part of the Safe School Program, called PSP, but they can be called upon to perform other police duties at any time.
