Nissan’s chief executive, Carlos Ghosn, who has long made a point of promoting women to management positions, said the Japanese prime minister’s plan to boost female bosses to 30 percent by 2020 is too ambitious.

British executives have increased their global importance within Nissan as the UK becomes an increasingly crucial location for the Japanese automaker, which aims to topple Toyota as Europe’s top-selling Asian brand by 2016.

Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn said the market won’t be ready for fuel cell vehicles before 2020, joining Tesla’s Elon Musk in questioning the future of hydrogen-powered cars.
