American Wholesale used car prices fall for third straight month

Wholesale used vehicle prices (on a mix-, mileage-, and seasonally adjusted basis) fell in March. It was the third consecutive monthly decline, and it brought the Manheim Used Vehicle Value Index reading to 120.4, which was 4.6% lower than a year ago.

Shell holds Tribology clinic

NHTSA unveils ‘SaferCar’ app for iPhones

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration(NHTSA) recently announced a new iOS app for iPhones and iPod Touches that will provide real-time vehicle safety information to consumers from NHTSA’s SaferCar.gov site.

NHTSA’s SaferCar app allows users to search its 5-Star Safety Ratings for vehicles by make and model, locate car seat installation help, file a vehicle safety complaint, find recall information and subscribe to automatic notices about vehicle recalls.

Hyundai, Kia to recall 1.9 million vehicles for bad electrical switch

South Korean automakers Hyundai and Kia are recalling some 1.9 million vehicles, the vast majority to fix a faulty electrical switch that could increase the risk of a crash while braking.
