SsangYong will join expanding subcompact SUV segment

SUV specialist SsangYong will preview a subcompact SUV at the Paris auto show next month with the XIV concept.

A production version called the X100 will be launched next year, a SsangYong spokesman stated.

Citroën will unveil its new C4 Cactus AIRFLOW 2L concept at the Paris Motor Show. With the C4 Cactus AIRFLOW 2L concept, Citroën is demonstrating fuel consumption of 2l/100 km (118 mpg US) through the use of optimized design with a 20% improvement in aerodynamics; lower rolling resistance (Tall&Narrow) tires; efforts to use lighter parts and thus reduce overall vehicle weight by 100 kg; and the implementation of Hybrid Air technology, which cuts fuel consumption by 30%.

ZF net debt seen at €8.5 billion after TRW deal

German auto supplier ZF Friedrichhafen’s net debt will rise to some €8.5 billion ($11 billion), or about 2.4 times core earnings (EBITDA), after it buys rival TRW, a banker familiar with the deal said.

Earlier this week, ZF agreed to buy U.S.-based TRW for $13.5 billion including debt, paying $105.60 in cash for each TRW share, or nearly $12 billion based on shares outstanding.
