‘Special’ LaFerrari-based supercar in the works


Unveiled in Geneva one year ago, the limited-edition supercar LaFerrari could soon be reissued in a “special” version for those who weren’t able to take home one of the only 449 cars produced. Ferrari’s president Luca di Montezemolo hinted at this new supercar in conversation with Autocar at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.

Skoda sees sales growth returning after 2013 profit drop

Volkswagen’s Czech unit Skoda expects to return to sales growth this year thanks to a build-up of orders and signs of recovery in many of its markets, the carmaker said on Monday after posting a 25.5 percent drop in 2013 profit.

Skoda is counting on the launch of new models to propel it towards a goal of selling 1.5 million cars annually by 2018 and has said it is set to hit 1 million for the first time in 2014.

Renault-Nissan names new alliance team to step up integration

Renault and alliance partner Nissan detailed plans to combine key operations under a new team of managers to pursue greater economies of scale.

Japanese executives from Nissan will take core new engineering and manufacturing leadership roles under the plans while Renault executives will head purchasing and human resources for the alliance.
