AstaZero safety proving ground now open

AstaZero is the first full-scale proving ground for future traffic safety solutions, opened in Sweden. AstaZero’s industry partners consist of Volvo Car Group, Volvo Group, Scania, Autoliv and Test Site Sweden.

The name Asta (Active Safety Test Area) relates to the facility’s connection to a vision of zero traffic fatalities.

Volvo Trucks is expanding its model range in Europe with a new version of the Volvo FE running entirely on natural gas. The Volvo FE CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) has been primarily developed for operations involving short driving cycles with repeated starts and stops such as refuse collection and local distribution.
