Tesla 1Q loss totals $50 million as costs rise

Electric car maker Tesla Motors lost $49.8 million in the first quarter as it accelerated the development of its new crossover and made improvements to its Model S sedan.

Tesla said it produced a record 7,535 Model S sedans during the period and delivered 6,457 to customers, but higher costs led to a loss. Shares fell 7 percent to $187.50 in after-hours trading.

Hyundai launches special edition i30 and ix35

Hyundai has launched limited Go! editions on the i30 and ix35. The Go! models will be limited to 550 examples and feature £900 of extra kit as standard, while Go! SE will add £1450 of extra equipment, but be limited to just 150 cars.

General Motors’ fleet of fuel cell vehicles (FCV) recently passed 3 million miles (4.8 million km) of hydrogen-powered, real-world driving. Some individual vehicles have accumulated more than 120,000 miles (193,000 km).
