Britain’s young drivers feel ‘invulnerable’

According to a survey commissioned by the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM), 71 per cent of young drivers aged 18-25 think they are better than the average driver. Three quaters  of young males and 68 per cent of young women polled claimed to be better than average.

The California Air Resources Board (ARB) voted to immediately expand the funding and current waiting list for incentive funds that help consumers buy zero-emission and plug-in hybrid vehicles. WSU researchers develop simpler drowsy driver detection system

Researchers at Washington State University Spokane have developed a new way to detect when drivers are drowsy. The technology is based on steering wheel movements—which are more variable in drowsy drivers—and offers an affordable and more reliable alternative to currently available video-based driver drowsiness detection systems, the researchers suggest.
