Honda and Toyota plan to launch fuel cell vehicles in the consumer market in 2015, with each producing about 1,000 units a year, the Nikkei newspaper reported.
Toyota to create foundation focused on mobility challenges
Toyota plans to establish a foundation to support efforts to address mobility challenges around the world. Toyota aims for the foundation, of which TMC President Akio Toyoda will be appointed chairman, to be registered in Japan by the end of August.
Redesigned Audi A3 earns IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+
The 2015 Audi A3 earned the IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ award, due to good performance in five crashworthiness tests and an advanced rating for front crash prevention.The A3 was completely redesigned for 2015 and is now a sedan instead of a wagon like its predecessor. It’s the first Audi model to earn either the 2014 TOP SAFETY PICK or TOP SAFETY PICK+ award and the first ever to earn a good or acceptable rating in the challenging small overlap front crash test.
Moody’s sees boost for European suppliers
Moody’s said today that a recovery in domestic demand coupled with continued emerging market growth should boost European automotive parts suppliers’ prospects, although there is unlikely to be a return to positive cash flow this year.
