Ford reveals self-driving Mondeo

Ford has taken the wraps off a self-driving Fusion – the American version of the upcoming Mondeo – at a technology show in Barcelona. The car creates a 3D image of the world and then uses it to navigate, avoiding obstacles slowing down and speeding up autonomously.

More company cars fitted with speed limiters

An increasing number of company cars are being fitted with speed limiters as fleet operators seek to improve safety and reduce costs.

Cobra speed limiter sales more than doubled in the second half of 2013 and while most are fitted to are vans, the company reported in Fleet News that some operators are fitting limiters to their cars as well.

VW offers 6.7 billion euros to purchase rest of truckmaker Scania

Volkswagen Group is bidding 6.7 billion euros ($9.2 billion) for the rest of truckmaker Scania to deepen cooperation with its other commercial-vehicles units after being blocked previously in those efforts by the Swedish company’s minority shareholders.VW, which already controls a majority of Scania’s capital and 89.2 percent of the voting rights, is offering 200 kronor ($30.6) per share, 36 percent higher than Friday’s closing price of 147.50 kronor for the company’s B stock.
