Hyundai recalls 2012-2013 Azeras over airbag deployment

Hyundai Motor Co. (Hyundai) is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 Azera vehicles manufactured May 22, 2012, through Nov. 23, 2012.

The occupant detection system may fail to properly differentiate whether the front passenger seat occupant is an adult, a child or a child restraint seat, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Energy Department announces investment to accelerate next generation biofuels

Following this week’s rollout of President Obama’s plan to cut carbon pollution, the Energy Department announced four research and development projects to bring next generation biofuels on line faster and drive down the cost of producing gasoline, diesel and jet fuels from biomass.

The projects—located in Oklahoma, Tennessee, Utah and Wisconsin—represent a $13 million Energy Department investment.

Cars Could Be the Next Big Platform for Local Search

Amid praise and criticism of the flatter design of Apple’s newest mobile operating system, the company quietly introduced a potentially transformative feature in iOS7: iOS in the Car.

The feature will allow iPhone users to mirror their devices with the in-dash infotainment systems of new models from a number of major auto manufactures. The move comes as automakers are looking to bring the car to the Web, opening a new market for local services.
