And just in time for driving trials on the epic circuit, the latest prototype of the plug-in hybrid super sports car has been decked out in full Martini racing colours.
The police’s summer drink driving campaign, run during June, has shown that 5.8% of the 83,224 motorists involved tested positive, refused or failed a breath test.
That figure is a slight improvement on last year’s 6%, but the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) said the decrease was not enough: “Although there has been a reduction in 2012, this reduction is not big enough. There were still almost 5,000 drivers found to be driving under the influence who have not got the message.”

The fastest production Bentley ever will debut at London’s Salon Privé luxury car show in September. The new Continental GT Speed will be shown for the first time at the event held at West London’s prestigious Syon House on 5-7 September, with tickets costing between £200 and £800 per person.
Powered by Bentley’s 6.0-litre, 48-valve, four-cam, twin turbocharged W12 engine, the coupe will reach 60mph in just four seconds. Orders for the new Continental GT Speed can be taken at Salon Privé, with first UK deliveries expected later this year.
The Mazda MX-5, Bugatti Veyron and Audi TT have been voted the top three cars most likely to be classic icons of the future.
According to a recent survey, 7% of classic vehicle owners predicted that the Mazda MX-5 was the vehicle most likely to be a classic icon in 50 years. This was followed by the Bugatti Veyron, the most expensive production car in the world, with 5% of respondents feeling that the car would be a classic of the future and the ubiquitous Audi TT, with 4% of classic car drivers, showed the research from classic car and insurance broker Footman James.
