New Hyundai Santa Fe SUV

Hyundai has put the brand new Santa Fe on display at the New York Motor Show, giving the world its first proper look at the car after a long campaign of teaser images and CGI. Naturally it’s a much more stylish car than its predecessor, using the ‘Fluidic Sculpture’ design language that gives a coherent, swoopy look to all modern Hyundais.It’s not surprising, given Hyundai’s recent form, that the Santa Fe will be one of the best looking SUVs on the market when it goes on sale here at the end of this year.  It will eschew the current Hyundai naming convention and hold onto Santa Fe, rather than adopt a number with an ‘ix’ prefix. As with the Veloster coupé, this is to distinguish it as a bit special in the context of the rest of the range.

Jaguar unveils Boxster-rivalling new F-Type

With plenty of razzmatazz and a heavily camouflaged car, Jaguar has confirmed what we already knew – that it will be making a new small sports car to compete with the Porsche Boxster and Cayman. An E-Type replacement, if you will. It has also confirmed the name: F-Type. Sadly, the only pictures we’re getting at the moment are of the disguised prototype, but we can now expect a slew of carefully presented teaser information before the production car is finally presented, probably at the Paris show in September.

Drivers show appalling lack of Highway Code knowledge

Most of us claim that we know the Highway Code like the back of our trousers, yet the reality is different. Harrowingly so. That’s according to the results of the Goodyear Test the Nation survey, which has found that while half of us reckon our knowledge of the Code is good or very good, a worrying number get the basics wrong.
