US Toyota Dealer Must Pay $16M For Rental Car Crash


According to an article on Law 360 website, an American Toyota dealer must compensate for damages.

A Philadelphia physician and her family received a $15.7 million jury award Tuesday for injuries they sustained when their rental car from car-sharing service PhillyCarShare experienced mechanical failure and rolled into a ditch, after jurors found a local auto dealership was at fault.

Dr. Noreen Lewis received $11.4 million, and five other passengers in her rented Toyota Sienna minivan received a combined $4.3 million after jurors found that Central City Toyota, which maintained the vehicle, was fully at fault for the 2008 crash, which left Lewis.
