UK Motorway Speed limit to rise.
Under new plans from the Government Transport Department Motorway speed limits are set to rise from 70mph to 80 mph. I personally think this is a good thing as the old speed limit is out dated, in fact I think it should be nearer 100mph.
Mind you to be fair at busy times if you get above 50mph your doing well, and the M25 …well 80mph, when’s that gonna happen!!
Whats your view?
The plans will be confirmed by Philip Hammond, the Transport Secretary, at next week’s Conservative conference.
It has of course attracted attention from the “Green” amongst us who are bleating about the environmental impact!
Along side this are plans to reduce some urban area speed limits to 20mph, this I support 100%, the amount of deaths and injuries should be dramatically affected by this.
