BMW DriveNow car-sharing unit to expand in Europe, U.S.

BMW plans to expand its DriveNow car-sharing program to as many as 25 new cities to lure younger customers in Europe and the United States.

The company is looking to add the short-term rental business in 10 to 15 locations in Europe and another 10 in the U.S., said Peter Schwarzenbauer, the board member responsible for the program.

U.S. to offer 40 million acres in the Gulf of Mexico for oil and gas development

US Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell and Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) Director Tommy P. Beaudreau announced that Interior will offer more than 40 million acres for oil and gas exploration and development in the Gulf of Mexico in March lease sales.

Honda, Nissan issue recalls in U.S., Canada

Honda is recalling over 225,000 vehicles in the U.S. and Canada for a problem related to the brakes and transmission, reported CNN Money.

In the U.S., the recall affects about 128,000 Honda CR-V SUVs and 59,000 Odyssey minivans of model years (MY) 2012-2013 and 17,500 Acura RDX sedans of MY2013. In Canada, about 14,000 CR-V, 4,500 Odyssey and 2,300 RDX vehicles are being recalled.
