The first Cannonball 2000 race is due to start in September, and it already looks like it’s going to be the supercar event of 2012.The name denotes the 2,000-mile journey that entrants will embark upon, spanning five days and four countries; beginning from the Hilton Park Lane in London, the run goes through Paris, Monte Carlo, Barcelona and Milan

It’s happening for charidee, with a load of celebs and supercar owners already signed up to raise money for children’s charity Dreams Come True. And you can take part if you get in touch with the organisers.

Cars confirmed include a DeLorean…but don’t worry too much about that. There’s a Bentley Speed, a Lambo Gallardo LP570 Performante, and all kinds of Ferraris gon’ be there.

Celebs include Ricky Hatton, Emmerdale’s Kelvin Fletcher and Coronation Street’s Ryan Thomas…we might have got the soaps the wrong way around there, sorry.
