Subaru WRX Concept hints at next-gen WRX

Subaru’s WRX concept made its public debut at this week’s NY Auto Show, hinting at next generation WRX design language.

The WRX concept is a four door saloon like the first Impreza’s, featuring bonnet scoop, large cooling vents, quad tailpipes, 20-inch BBS wheels wrapped with 245/40ZR20 Dunlop tyres, hawk-eye headlights and a wider and lower than the current model. The WRX Concept is finished with a new paint colour, “WR Blue Pearl III”, which modernizes the iconic WRX look. The fluorescent yellow accents are also recognisable from old Subarus.

To save the weight and improve the centre of gravity the roof is made from carbon fibre.

Subaru did not release any details about the powertrain, only saying that the focus is on sharp handling, AWD grip and turbo power.
