Skoda does limited edition 4×4

Skoda has released a limited edition version of the Yeti, called Urban. It’s a gangsta Yetizzle, because in the U-to-tha-K we love that shizzle. It has two and a half grand’s worth of free kit, polished rims and is available in the UK only.Only 750 of them will be made. That number is most likely an estimate of how many Skoda reckons it will sell, but it doesn’t really matter – this car is about value and style rather than exclusivity.
There’s exactly £2,450 of kit on it in addition to standard SE spec, with no rise in the price. That kit includes a DAB digital radio, top level sat nav, Bluetooth, 17-inch black and chrome rims, silver mirror caps, roof rails, sports seats (available in red) and roof stripes. It comes with either the 1.2-litre TSI petrol with 104bhp, or the 2.0-litre TDI diesel with 108. Sadly, automatic isn’t an option, and nor is four-wheel drive.
Skoda has sold thousands of Yetis in the UK since it was launched in 2009 – and we’re not surprised.
It is one of the most complete family cars on sale in the UK. It’s great value, very high quality, awesome to drive, has a flexible cabin and, in 4×4 guise, surprising off-road capability. It’s also one of the slowest depreciating cars in the UK.
The Yeti Urban is on sale from April, at £16,900 for the petrol and £18,330 for the diesel.
