Petrol-engined Audi SQ5 unveiled


Audi has unveiled a petrol-engined SQ5 with a 349bhp 3.0-litre TFSI engine mated to an eight speed tiptronic, which will make its public debut at the Detroit Motor Show.

The petrol-engined SQ5 will not be sold in Europe. The SQ5 has been designed specifically for North America, Russia, China, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, South Africa, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile and the Ukraine.
In Europe the recently revealed SQ5 TDI with 309bhp takes its place as the sporty top model in the Q5 series.The 349bhp SQ5 with 470Nm of torque accelerates from 0-62mph in 5.3 seconds and has a top speed of 155 mph. Even though the Europe only SQ5 TDI has less power it does 0-62 mph in 5.1 seconds thanks to 650Nm of torque.The petrol SQ5 delivers 33.2mpg emitting 199 g/km of CO2, while the diesel model returns 39.2mpg and emitting 179 g/km of CO2.

Other updates to the petrol SQ5 are similar to the diesel model, including a 30mm lower suspension, 20-inch alloy wheels, SQ5 badges, modified bumpers, roof spoiler, black brake calipers, a sportier fascia and aluminum-look mirrors.

Inside, the instruments feature gray dials and white numerals, while the pedals and shift paddles have an aluminum-look finish.
