Nissan 370Z successor to be called Z35, will use Mercedes-Benz engines and an electric motor

Nissan 370Z has been in production since 2009 and despite a recent facelift there is a strong need for a replacement.
We haven’t seen any mysterious Nissan prototypes, but according to Australian Motoring.com.au the successor is in the works with sharper styling, wearing most likely Z35 moniker.
The current model has been marketed strongly in Japan and United States, while the new model will be a global car.
The biggest news is that the new model in addition to a coupe is also reportedly developed with a retractable hard-top (either a targa top or a T-bar roof) and hybrid tech.
The standard model will use a Mercedes-Benz sourced 208bhp 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine found also in the Nissan Skyline 200GT-t, working together with an electric motor.
The top of the range model will use a 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbocharged petrol, sourced again from Mercedes-Benz delivering over 400bhp.
The Z35 concept could debut as early as next year at the Tokyo Motor Show with the production model to follow in 2016.
