MP Motorsport win Britcar 24
The MP Motorsport BMW E46 GTR took the overall win at this year’s Britcar 24 hour endurance race in teeming rain at Silverstone today. Richard Abra piloted the #28 car across the line, abreast with 2nd place Mike Brown’s #16 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 with Perfection Racing’s #60 Aston Martin GT4 taking third spot.
The Neil Garner Motorsport Mosler dropped back to finish 6th after wheel bearing issues and early race leader Team LNT’s #6 Ginetta G55 GT3 returned to the circuit to loud applause in the pits to finish 21st overall.
Toyota UK will no doubt be extremely happy with a 3rd-in-class from their GT-86, following their world endurance race debut at Nürburgring in May and marking a return to this category of circuit racing for the company here. The car carried a colour scheme inspired by the 1980?s BTCC-winning AE86 Corolla GT.
Director of Britcar Ltd James Tucker announced that he was already working on arranging next year’s race.
