Mitsubishi has unveiled the Concept G4 ahead of its public debut later this week at the Shanghai Auto Show.

The Concept G4 is a vision for a new compact sedan which Mitsubishi plans to roll out as a global vehicle. The concept uses new styling ideas like new high-clarity brilliant-cut diamond motif in the design of the front grille, headlamps and rear.

The short nose is meant to deliver an outstanding forward field of view and superior maneuverability.

The Concept G4 also features a new RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) body, which is according to Mitsubishi the lightest in its class due to the extensive use of high-tensile steel.

Power comes from a compact 1.2-litre MIVEC engine mated to a CVT with sub-geartrain.
