Mercedes-Benz unveils Vito with both front and rear-wheel drive options
July 30, 2014
John E.

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the new Vito range, including the Vito panel van, the Vito Crew and the Vito Tourer family with three different lengths (4895mm, 5140mm, 5730mm), making it up to 140mm longer than its predecessor.
For passenger transport, the Vito Tourer is available in two versions: the Vito Tourer PRO and the premium Vito Tourer SELECT, both tailored to accommodate all types of passenger transport.
Depending on the model the cargo-capacity is best-in-class up to 1,369 kg.
The biggest news is the segment first front and rear-wheel drive availability. When carrying only a light load, front-wheel drive offers better traction, while rear-wheel drive is the right solution for heavy weights and towing.
The interior offers more space and the cockpit is functional and ergonomic.
Engine range includes two turbo diesels in five power ratings altogether.
The 1.6-litre four-cylinder is available with 88bhp in the Vito 109 CDI and 114bhp in the Vito 111 CDI for the front-wheel drive model
The rear-wheel drive model is offered with a 2.15-litre four-cylinder engine with three power outputs: Vito 114 CDI with 136bhp, Vito 116 CDI with 163bhp and Vito 119 BlueTEC with 190bhp.
Six-speed manual transmission is standard with most engine options and the 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission with torque converter is optional for the Vito 114 CDI and Vito 116 CDI and standard on the Vito 119 BlueTEC.
