McLaren P1 supercar rivals
McLaren’s new P1 hypercar broke cover yesterday. Whatever you make of its aggressively-wrought lines, there’s no doubting the drama of the legendary F1’s successor.
It ventures into that rarefied market where horsepower outputs nudge four figures and price tags are hedge fund fodder. But it’s not without competition – here’s five rivals to the P1 that’ll be baying for its blood when it goes on sale next year.
Porsche’s hybrid supercar plays the green card – combining two electric motors with a 570bhp 4.6-litre V8 to provide nearly 800bhp worth of tree-hugging grunt. The headline figures are a sub-3 second 0-62mph time and claimed 94mpg economy. Welcome to the dawn of the politically correct supercar. What’s your favourite supercar rival to the McLaren P1?
