Kia targets 270,000 new Sorento sales next year
August 29, 2014

Kia unveiled its new Sorento, saying it aims to sell 270,000 units of the SUV globally next year, seeking to maintain its momentum in the U.S., Europe and other key markets.
The Sorento, which competes against models such as the Nissan X-Trail and Mitsubishi Pathfinder, has been given its first major makeover in over five years. It will be launched in the United States, Europe and other markets in the first half of next year.
Kia said it aims to sell 50,000 new Sorentos in Korea and 220,000 overseas next year.
The new Sorento has a bolder look than the current car with “a lower roofline, higher beltline, more muscular stance, rounded shoulders at the rear and deeply sculpted body surfaces,” according to Kia.
The Sorento gets the larger, more upright ‘tiger-nose’ grille that features on other models in the company’s range. It was designed at Kia’s studios in Korea, Germany and the United States.
The Sorento will have its European debut on Oct. 2 at the Paris auto show.
