Jaguar is expanding the XJ lineup with the introduction of the XJR, that will debut next week at the New York Auto Show.

The hot XJR gets its power from an already familiar 5.0-litre supercharged V8 with 544bhp. The XJR also features a bespoke chassis, new aerodynamic developments and bespoke wheels.

According to Adrian Hallmark, Global Brand Director, Jaguar: “Thenew XJR epitomises the three pillars of technology, performance and contemporary design which the Jaguar brand stands for in the twenty-first century, while delivering new levels of dynamic ability in a luxury saloon.”

No performance specs were released, but knowing the 503bhp XJ Supersport accelerates from 0-60mph in 4.7 seconds, the XJR will likely do it in little over four seconds.

As the XJ Supersport costs £95,235, the XJR is expected to cost around £110,000.
