Fisker Automotive hastens its search for a buyer
Fisker Automotive is the group that presented a surprise debut at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. This surprise debut was possibly more intended to showcase their potential to suitors rather than generate customer interest for their future products.
The car they debuted was a 2013 Destino which is a Fisker Karma without the electric motors, batteries and range extending combustion engine. Unfortunately the company is having financial problems and may not be able to continue their efforts.
According to Dow Jones Newswires, Fisker has placed the company up for sale and needs to find a suitor next month.
Fisker Automotive Inc., the struggling maker of battery-powered sports cars, is in talks with several potential bidders as it accelerates a search for buyers and investors so it can keep operating, according to people familiar with the discussions.
Both this great idea of an electric powered sports car and the Destino which was initially scheduled for sales in the second half of 2013 are in jeopardy.
