The Fiat 500X prototype was seen for the first time last week testing in Italy and here we have first shots, showing the 500X production body on the assembly line, courtesy of Fiat.

The Fiat 500X stays true to the 500 range design and looks quite different from the Jeep Renegade, that is shares its platform and engines with. As you can see there is also a Renegade production body on one of the pictures.

Both vehicles will be produced at Fiat’s Melfi plant where the picture was taken.

Just as the Jeep Renegade, the 500X will be most likely offered with 16 different powertrain combinations, combining four different MultiAir petrol and two MultiJet II diesel engines.

Official debut is already on July 4th which happens to mark the 57th anniversary of the original Fiat 500.
