Chris Harris drives the McLaren P1 at Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi
Earlier we brought you an onboard video of the McLaren P1 lapping the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi, giving a very good idea how it feels to sit on the passenger seat, when the hybrid supercar is driven by experienced McLaren driver, Tim Mullen.
Chris Harris was also recently there and here we have a very good close to 30 minute review of the hot P1.
The car he drove was a pre-production XP7 prototype of the P1 and as you can imagine he was very impressed, saying that in a straight line the P1 feels much faster than the Bugatti Veyron while at the same time feeling agile and light.
He also added the P1 has basically no direct competitor as there isn’t a car like this out there. Pointing out it is in a different league compared to the Porsche 918 Spyder hybrid he drove last year.
Chris also chats with Chris Goodwin, the Chief Test Driver for McLaren Automotive to discuss the technology of P1.
The P1 is now in production with all 375 units sold with prices starting from £866,000. It takes 17 days to build one car and once running at full capacity, the production line will see one car completed each day, with production due to run until mid-2015.
This is one amazing car and the whole video is worth watching. Enjoy!
