General Motors expects its sales in China this year to top 3.1 million vehicles and sees no impact on business from an anti-monopoly probe of the industry, the president of the automaker’s China unit said Wednesday.

EU orders Germany to stop backing Mercedes’ use of banned refrigerant

The European Commission on Thursday ordered Germany to stop backing a banned car refrigerant within two months or face court action and possible fines.

The EU executive’s decision follows months of investigation by the Commission after Mercedes-Benz refused to stop using a polluting refrigerant and won backing from German authorities.
