Panasonic 12V Ni-MH Energy Recovery Systems used in idle-stop minicars
Panasonic Corporation’s NiMH 12V Energy Recovery Systems is being applied in the new idle-stop (stop-start) minicars just introduced by Nissan Motor and Mitsubishi Motors in Japan: the Nissan DAYZ ROOX and Mitsubishi eK Space. The new models were designed and developed for the Japanese market by NMKV Co., Ltd., a joint venture formed by the two automakers.
VW workers reject union organizing drive at U.S. plant
The United Auto Workers union suffered a major defeat when workers at German auto giant Volkswagen’s Tennessee plant rejected its organizing efforts. The closely-watched Friday’s vote came as the US labor movement is fighting for its survival after decades of shrinking membership rolls.
Wanxiang America wins auction for Fisker with bid valued at $149.2M
After 19 rounds of bidding, Wanxiang America Corporation (Wanxiang) has been selected as the highest and best bidder in a competitive auction for Fisker Automotive, completed on Friday. Wanxiang’s winning bid is valued at approximately $149.2 million, representing $126.2 million of cash, $8 million of assumed liabilities, and a contribution of common equity in an affiliate designated by Wanxiang to acquire the assets of Fisker Automotive.
BCA: Used car values rise again in January
British Car Auctions has reported a 3.4% rise in used car values, with a year-on-year increase of £244. The average price of a used car passing through auction is now £7381, which is the third highest monthly value on record.
