We wanted to introduce different materials and textures to contrast with the super purity of the surfaces. They are an integral part of the design. They have a protective function but they also give the car its graphic identity and make it immediately identifiable.

Volvo Cars has won a coveted ‘hat-trick’ of awards after its new Concept Estate concept car was named ‘Car of the Show’ by several international media.
American public transit ridership growth since 1995 has outpaced population
In 2013, Americans took 10.7 billion trips on public transportation—the highest annual public transit ridership number in 57 years—according to a report released by the American Public Transportation Association (APTA). This was the eighth year in a row that more than 10 billion trips were taken on public transportation systems nationwide. While vehicle miles traveled on roads (VMT) went up 0.3%, public transportation use in 2013 increased by 1.1%.
Audi introduces 2015 A3 Sedan with gasoline engines; diesel and PHEV coming
Audi of America introduced the all-new 2015 A3 Sedan with both the 1.8 TFSI and 2.0 TFSI gasoline-fueled powertrains. The A3 Sedan will be joined later in 2014 by the recently announced Audi A3 Cabriolet, A3 TDI clean diesel, the high-performance S3 Sedan and in early 2015, the A3 Sportback e-tron gasoline electric hybrid (PHEV).
McLaren pauses 12C production to meet 650S demand
Looks like customers love the recently introduced McLaren 650S as according to Piston Heads, the 12C production has been paused in order to free up capacity for the new model.
Even though the 650S is not an all new model, and is essentially a modified 12C with a P1 inspired front fascia, extra horsepower and few other tweaks, the demand for it is so strong that McLaren is currently not assembling the 12C Coupe or Spider.
