Aston Martin releases first Lagonda pictures

Following lost month’s teaser images, Aston Martin in partnership with Oman Air has released first images of the pre-production Lagonda saloon, that will continue summer heat testing in Oman.
Why Oman Air? Well Aston Martin has chosen the Middle Eastern carrier to bring the marque’s yet-to-be-launched Lagonda to Muscat as part of its early testing programme.
Details continue to be very limited, but so far we know the Lagonda saloon is designed by Marek Reichmann and will be built by the firm’s Q bespoke division, riding on the VH platform, which is also used on the Rapide, featuring carbon fibre body panels and most likely using the company’s well knwon 6.0-litre V12 engine with around 600bhp sent to the rear wheels via eight-speed automatic transmission.
The new reborn Lagonda saloon draws inspiration from the William Towns-designed Lagonda of 1976 and will be produced in limited numbers and offered through invitation only for its Middle Eastern customers. Don’t expect to see it in Europe, unless it is in Monaco wearing the number plate of Oman or some other Middle East country.
