Gibbs unveiled their Quadski, billed as the world’s first high-speed sports amphibian in late 2012.

Until now the Quadski has been available with seating for one, but the company is thinking about your friends as well and has now unveiled a new Quadski XL, offering seating for two.

Compared to the standard solo seater, the XL model has a 30cm longer longer wheelbase, offering an extra seat and increased storage capacity.

The longer wheelbase model also reportedly has a smoother, more comfortable ride on land and greater stability on water.

For 2014, both the standard and XL models have larger sponsons (stationary rudders) integrated into their hulls, larger bonnet-mounted air scoops and more resilient front bumper systems.

Both models are powered by a 138bhp 1.3-litre two-cylinder BMW Motorrad engine and transmission. The engine enables Quadski and Quadski XL to reach speeds of 45mph on both land and water.

Gibbs points out that they have more than 300 patents and patents pending on Gibbs technology and they have invested more than $220 million in product and technology development.

Both the single seater and two seater sure are a one way to have fun in the wild from crossing rivers to going off-road.
