Audi RS5 TDI concept is here! Yes you read it correct, a diesel RS model.

Audi is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the TDI engine this year. To celebrate the diesel revolution, Audi has unveiled the RS5 TDI concept at AMI Leipzig.

The car is based on the RS5 Coupe, replacing the 444bhp 4.2-litre V8 petrol engine for a 380bhp 3.0-litre V6 TDI equipped with an electrically driven supercharger that promises to eliminate turbo lag.

The 380bhp engine delivers also 553 lb-ft of torque and is linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission sending power to a quattro all-wheel drive.

0-62mph comes in around 4.0 seconds and the top speed is over 174mph. The concept also delivers a very impressive 54.6mpg.

In comparison the petrol powered production RS5 goes from 0-62mph in 4.6 seconds and has an electronically-limited top speed of 155mph.
