MOT Tests …what to do if yours fails.
Its a pain in the bum when your car fails its MOT. But what if you don’t agree with what the tester has failed it on?
Firstly, don’t get any repairs done as you cant then pursue it with the ministry.
Secondly you will need an appeal form, if you don’t want to get that from the station who tested it you can go to any MOT station to get one.
Thirdly,it will cost you another MOT fee, though this is refunded if the ministry uphold your claim.
Fourthly, the ministry will then arrange with you to inspect the vehicle at another testing station.Their verdict will be given on the day.
OK its a real pain having to do all this, but you could also just speak to the tester and ask him to show you in the manual the specific wording for the failure. Sometimes they do get it wrong!
