UK’s only Lamborghini Reventon due for £1m sale

A Lamborghini Reventon – one of only 21 ever made and believed to be the only one in the UK – is going up for sale at a London auction soon. The Reventon will be put under the hammer by H&H Classics at the 2012 London Motorexpo, which takes place in Canary Wharf between the 11th and 17th of June. First shown at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show, every one of the 20 planned for production had been sold before the car went on sale. (An extra car was made for the Lamborghini museum, labelled 0/20.)
Based on the Lamborghini Murcielago, which was the company’s flagship supercar until the Aventador came out, the Reventon’s interior and exterior were both inspired by the F-22 Raptor jet fighter; the regular instrument cluster was replaced by a trio of LCD displays, including a g-force meter. Each Reventon was made with a matte grey paint job covering a carbon fibre body. The car has a 6.5-litre V12 engine with 650bhp, capable of pushing it to 62mph in 3.4 seconds and on to 211mph.
H&H believes that the Reventon will command well in excess of £1m at the London auction, where it will be sold alongside a host of classic cars – no doubt we’ll find out more about them as the auction gets closer.
The London Motorexpo will also host more than 250 new cars for visitors to gawk at, with Bentley, BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover and Mercedes-Benz among the confirmed manufacturers.
