A year ago, the new Dutch supercar maker Vencer showed their pre-production Sarthe at the Salon Prive in London.

After final testing and validation, the production version of the Sarthe for 2015 model year is now ready with new exterior features and a new V8 engine, that replaces the naturally-aspirated 510bhp V8 found in the pre-production model.

The Vencer Sarthe is named after the circuit “la Sarthe” and according to the company the design takes cues of the ’80s Le Mans era.

Biggest visual changes compared to the pre-production prototype include new rear pillar with air intakes, electrically deploying rear wing, redesigned engine cover and new side air inlets.

The car is quite simple with no big modern day technology options, featuring a carbon-fibre body, chrome-moly chassis and rear-mid mounted 622bhp 6.3-litre supercharged V8 with 618 lb-ft of torque, linked to a six-speed manual. There is no computer assist and only a simple Torsen limited-slip differential.

The interior is very minimalist and lightweight, showing a two-ton leather with Alcantara inserts, big centre screen for the instruments, very few buttons and the manual gearshift.

The 2015 Vencer Sarthe is to be built at a production rate of one unit per month, with first cars are already being hand-built in Vriezenveen to specific customer requirements. Pricing starts from €270,882 (£213,000) plus VAT and other local taxes.
