2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate unveiled
Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the new C-Class Estate, expanding the new C-Class family to two members with sales scheduled to start in September.
The new C-Class Estate has the front end borrowed from the already revealed saloon, but the rear of the car from the B-pillar to the back is different.
New model has an overall length of 4702mm, making it 96mm longer than its predecessor, while the wheelbase has grown by 80mm which now stands at 2840mm.
Rear legroom is up by 45mm and the extra width of 40mm brings the total width to 1810mm, offering more elbow and shoulder room.
The trunk space with seats up has grown just 5 litres to 490 litres and by 10 litres to 1510 litres with the rear seats folded down.
Ta make the cargo hauling easier the rear seat has a 40/20/40-split configuration and is equipped with electrically-foldable backrests.
Even though the new model is significantly bigger it has lost up to 65kg compared to the outgoing model, depending on the engine.
Engine line-up carries over from the saloon with petrol engines offering 156-333bhp and diesel engines from 115-204bhp.
Two hybrid versions will follow later. 204bhp petrol engine working with a 27bhp electric motor in the C300 BlueTEC HYBRID and a C350 BlueTEC Hybrid using a 211bhp petrol and a 68bhp electric.
As with the previous generation model a more potent AMG model will follow later.
