Truckers for Troops sends care packages overseas
The Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association (OOIDA) is getting ready to launch the seventh Truckers for Troops care package campaign, scheduled for the week of Dec. 9-13.
The fundraising effort is an OOIDA tradition since 2007 and has a head start with a generous donation of $5,000 from Shell Rotella. Truckers for Troops raises money to pack and send care packages to service personnel stationed in combat zones.

Colorado Springs outsourced workers have until Dec. 31 to accept job offer
More than 50 Colorado Springs fleet maintenance employees have until the end of December to accept an offer of employment with Serco, the international company taking over fleet services for the city.
Since the city announced in June that it would outsource its fleet management program and let go 70 employees, some found other jobs. Fifty-four stayed and all were offered jobs with Serco, said Laura Neumann, chief of staff.
