U.S. Senators seek investigation of oil company efforts to block renewable fuels
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently released the final regulation for the Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS) that dictates how much of the fuel supply made available must consist of different ethanol blends and types of ethanol-based fuels, according to the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA).
The RFS came into the spotlight in recent years when concerns over the ability for fuel companies to provide the required amounts of different ethanol fuels came into question.
AAIA joins fight against stricter ozone standards
The Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) has joined with the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and 11 other groups to move to intervene in a lawsuit brought by the Sierra Club over the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) regulation of ozone.
The Sierra Club and other environmental groups filed the suit to force EPA to complete its review and revision of the national ambient air quality standards (NAAQS) for ozone by September 2014.
