The Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy is offering 30-minutes sessions for £45 which lets aspiring young motorists get behind the wheel of a Merc and complete a series of car challenges to win prizes. Applicants don’t need a full or provisional licence or even any previous driving experience – they just need be 16-plus and over 1.5m tall.
If you love all things automotive, Beaulieu Motor Museum is the place to be on 8 and 9 September. Its most famous motoring event, the International Autojumble, takes place on these dates and is the biggest outdoor sale of motoring items this side of the Atlantic. Started in 1967 in a one-day show with 75 stands, it is now in its 45th year and boasts over 2,000 stands.
Stands feature everything from vintage and classic motoring parts, accessories, automobilia and literature to tools and clothing. And in the Automart, there will be up to 200 cars on offer, from restoration projects to cars in concours condition while the DealerMart will have a selection of classic cars for sale.

But times change, and high-end brand Audi are reassuring customers by pioneering a new camera which lets customers see and hear about necessary repair work and authorise it all via mobile phone or PC.
Now rolled out across all UK Audi centres, the service enables technicians carrying out workshop inspections to focus handheld ‘Audi Cams’ on specific problems, to deliver verbal diagnoses and to send the resulting film clips to customers’ home computers or smartphones before any work begins.
Jaguar has confirmed that the all-new F-Type will make its global debut in production form next month at the Paris Motor Show.

After last week’s news that Renault is offering a free electric Twizy with its Laguna and Espace models in Spain, now comes the revelation that some Renault dealers in the UK are offering cars at cost price, plus £1.
According to The Daily Telegraph, some of the French carmaker’s outlets in the south of England are letting cars go for the same prices as Renault paid for them in the first place. All the franchisees ask is that for every vehicle they sell at cost, the buyer hands them a £1 coin.
