1955 Porsche 356 Silver Bullett Hot Rod

This Porsche 356 Silver Bullet Hot Rod is a truly stunning vehicle. The vehicle was built by Australian Jeff Dunton back in 1992. The body is based on a 1955 Porsche 356 Continental, chassis is based on a 914-6 and power comes from a 279bhp 3.0-litre 911 engine with Weber carburetors mated to a 915 5-speed gearbox.

Thanks to a longer chassis, the body is longer compared to the standard 356 and of course the chopped top adds the final punch.

Much of the car is structurally composed of a tube frame and there is also an integral roll bar.

Other highlights include polished 17-inch disc wheels, 718 RSK style side vents, racing style through-hood fuel filler, while the rear view and passenger side mirror both operate on the `periscope` principle through view windows.

The interior is quite simple with green leather bucket seats and wood-rimmed steering wheel with Porsche crest. There is no carpeting or other upholstery, the door panels are polished stamped aluminum panels and windscreen and side windows are Plexiglas to keep the weight down.

This special 356 Silver Bullet Hot Rod was recently sold by Fantasy Junction to an anonymous buyer for an unknown amount.
