Chitty Chitty Bang Bang sells for £500,000 – Second Chance!?
One of the most famous cars in cinema history has sold in America – the star of the 1968 film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The car failed to live up to its pre-auction hype though, and sold for $805,000 (£495,415) – well short of its estimated value of $1m-$2m. Not to worry if you missed it, you have a second chance- sort of.
Ford unveils major product offensive
Ford has revealed it’ll be making a hybrid version of the next Mondeo, it’s introducing three new SUVs and the Mustang is crossing the pond.
The announcements were made at a special event in Amsterdam today. Called ‘Go Further’, the product launch was hosted by a number of key Ford personnel including president and CEO Alan Mulally, and the event saw 2,500 dealers and media from around the world attend.

Ford has created a unique road legal version of one of its latest Formula Ford racing cars, and it is now one of the fastest cars around the fearsome Nurburgring circuit.

Ford has unveiled first details about the all-new Mondeo, that will be fitted with its award-winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine. Yes a 1.0-litre engine in a Mondeo. A decade ago this would have been an insane idea, but not today.
