Jaguar has come top in the 2012 JD Power Dealer Satisfaction Survey, published by What Car?The interesting thing is that the margin between Jaguar in first place on 86.1% satisfaction and Lexus in second place on 83.5% satisfaction was one of the widest in the whole table. Most car companies were bunched between 77% and 82% and the only outliers were Jaguar at the top and Fiat (74.8%) and Chevrolet (71.5%) at the bottom. The position of Chevrolet at the very bottom of the table is a bit of a surprise. Korean cars are usually very reliable, so the dealers must have done something exceptional to annoy their customers to that extent.

Jaguar goes 4wd now, SUV later

It is a sign of things to come, as Jaguar will almost certainly offer a luxury off-roader, or SUV, within a few years. It might seem odd that the company which is a sister brand to Land Rover should offer an off-roader, but there really is no alternative. Most luxury saloon buyers have switched to SUVs, and so Jaguar has to offer them what they want.

Jaguar to show F-Type at Goodwood

Jaguar will drive the forthcoming F-Type up the hillclimb at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. As part of the “dance of the seven veils” strategy, whereby we all get teased by a steady stream of near-reveals, a development prototype example of Jaguar’s new sports car, will make its public debut at the Festival of Speed.

Jaguar releases faster XJ Speed Pack

Jaguar has lifted the limiter of the XJ and in doing so uncorked 174mph from the big British limo. To celebrate, the company has had world record hurdle-meister Colin Jackson hit top speed in the thing on a proving ground. It’s an epic(ish) photo opportunity. The link is that Jackson is an ambassador for Jaguar’s Academy of Sport, which provides funding to promising young athletes.The Speed Pack is an extension of a new Sport Pack for the XJ Supercharged, allowing the 503bhp 5.0-litre V8 engine to take the car to 174mph instead of the usual 155mph. It’s done by altering the car’s software, and nothing more.

Jaguar unveils Boxster-rivalling new F-Type

With plenty of razzmatazz and a heavily camouflaged car, Jaguar has confirmed what we already knew – that it will be making a new small sports car to compete with the Porsche Boxster and Cayman. An E-Type replacement, if you will. It has also confirmed the name: F-Type. Sadly, the only pictures we’re getting at the moment are of the disguised prototype, but we can now expect a slew of carefully presented teaser information before the production car is finally presented, probably at the Paris show in September.
