Japanese automobile manufacturers Honda and Toyota are looking at shaping up their India domestic operations as major parts exporters after the introduction of India-specific models Brio and Etios, respectively, in the country.

Honda Urban SUV Concept Teaser – Global Debut Detroit Auto Show
The Honda Compact “URBAN SUV CONCEPT” is to make its World Debut at the 2013 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) on 14 January 2013. All we have so far is the Urban SUV Concept sketch (above) of a new global model based on the Honda Jazz platform that combines a sporty SUV profile with a spacious interior utilising Honda’s centre-tank layout, creating a highly functional design.
Honda Micro Commuter EV Prototype unveiled
Honda has revealed an all-electric Micro Commuter prototype, that seats two, with the second person sitting behind the driver. Optionally two children can be seated behind the driver as well. Now every-time you have a passenger, they will be a “back seat driver!”
New Honda Civic 1.6 i-DTEC on sale in January
Honda’s new 1.6 i-DTEC Civic will be available from January 2013. The new diesel Civic variant will be available in three trim levels: SE, ES and top-of-the-range EX. The specifications will be identical to the equivalent 2.2-litre i-DTEC cars, but with the addition of new 16-inch alloy wheels, while the EX model comes also with front and rear parking sensors, an auto-dimming rear view mirror and DAB digital radio.
New Honda Civic Type R Confirmed For 2015
Honda CEO Takanobu Ito has confirmed that a new Civic Type R for Europe will arrive in 2015. Other new models to arrive in the near future include a new fuel cell electric model, new NSX, new super sports motorcycle based on MotoGP machines and a compact SUV.
